Easter

We started Easter with an egg hunt in the living room. Clayton filled plastic eggs with Cheerios, and I “hid” them in plain sight. Ruby and Cora like anything that will make a noise when they shake it, so they thought those eggs were fun. As soon as we set them down to search out their eggs they bee lined it to the nearest one, but then they weren’t really interested in finding the rest. So Clayton had to find the other 10 ;)

I don’t usually dress the twins in the same outfits, but it just seems so fitting for holidays. This year they wore these cute springy dresses with flamingos on the front, and Nana knitted them pink cardigans. Every time we wear those cardigans to church we get many, many  complements. We’re so lucky to have such a talented, sweet Nana!

Anyway, this picture of us sitting in the chair is the best one we could get.

We went to church and then spent the evening at our friend’s house. We were in charge of bringing a potato side dish and a dessert. Clayton said that if I made the dessert he’d make the potatoes. I made carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese icing, and he made funeral potatoes casserole. Stupidly, I waited until Saturday to go shopping for our ingredients, and the stores were PACKED. Also, everyone in Ohio was eating hash browns for Easter and every store was clean out of them. It took stopping at 4 different stores to find frozen hash browns for the casserole. I ended up assembling the casserole before church while Clayton played with the girls, and then I told him that all he had to do when we got home was add the topping and bake it in the oven before we leave. Well we got home from church and everyone forgot about that darn casserole. It turned out that the ham needed more time than originally planned as well, so we all finished baking everythig once we got there and ate a late dinner.

It was a good Easter. I’m already excited for next year when the girls will care more about all the fun traditions.

A couple of days ago we went to Olive Garden for dinner. When we asked for the check we were surprised to find that an elderly couple who had been sitting a few tables away from us already picked up our bill. It was so kind, and I wished we had known before they left so that we could say thank you.
