Darcy can walk

Image
Darcy learned how to walk today! It was the craziest thing. I was taking a video of her because she’s been standing on her own lately and she was going from sitting to standing a bunch of times, and then she just started walking towards me! She took probably 10 steady steps, and I was shocked! When did she learn to do that? I’ve never even seen her take one step before, even though I watch her all day long, and here she is walking right towards me. So I got it all on video, which was cool.

Fancy Nancy Spa Day

Image
This morning we read Fancy Nancy Oh lala Spa, and afterwards Cora and Ruby wanted to have our own spa. We followed the order of spa treatments in the Fancy Nancy book exactly. We started with face masks, then did hand and foot baths with bath salts, lotioned them up, and then painted all their nails. Then we did some “make up” and fancy hair styles. Our spa treatments took the entire morning, and I think both girls enjoyed every minute of it. What girly girls I have. I remember playing similar games with Emma when we were little, so I guess the apples didn’t fall far from the tree.

Saturdays are for Siblings

Sometimes Saturdays feel like every other day. I spent most of mine cleaning, doing laundry, and trying to get Darcy to take a nap. The big girls and I ran errands and tried to buy chicks, but they were out of the breed we like. Sierra and Ethan came over for lunch and stayed until bedtime. Clayton entertained them with video games and then we had dinner together. Potato and corn chowder. The adults liked it, the kids did not.  Ruby is such a fancy Nancy. Today she put on all her most fancy things and said her name was Chandelier,  and she was going to go on a fancy trip to Africa where they have a wild salon where they paint your nails and you get to look at animals. That girl cracks me up. And this cutie patootie cracks me up too.

Just a Thursday

Today was a regular day, nothing exciting happened, but I decided it was as good a day as any to start blogging again. I’ve been regretting not having a consistent record of the past 4ish years, as they’ve been pretty important ones. I took the girls to preschool this morning. They love school and have made lots of friends in their class. The only thing they don’t like is waking up early, and by early I mean 7. Both Cora and Ruby have been really tired lately, even though I put them to bed at 7:30.  We got a lot of snow yesterday, over a foot! Tatum, Penny and Marshall came over after school. Cora, Ruby and Marshall played outside in the snow, and the big girls and I did a drawing tutorial of a toucan on YouTube. I was pretty impressed by both Tatum and Penny’s drawings!  We’ve been spending a bit more time at the library lately. Cora and Ruby have gotten into chapter books recently. We started reading the Magic Tree House series, and have been zipping through them. Darcy likes the pla
