Zion National Park

This past weekend we took a camping trip with some friends down to Zion National Park. We camped just outside of the park at a great spot. It was beautiful. We hiked Angels landing and the Narrows. Both hikes are the main attractions at Zion's. Angels landing is paved switch backs for the first half of the hike, but the second half is climbing up rocks with thousand foot drops on either side. They had chains you could hold on to for the rougher parts. It was really cool, and the view from the top was amazing. The Narrows is a canyon river bed that goes on for miles. You're wading through water for the majority of the hike, sometimes up past your waist. The water was cold, but it was 100 degrees this weekend so it felt really refreshing. The hikes were both pretty long, and I think most people would consider them strenuous. By the end of the day we were exhausted and sore.  My feet were really swollen by the time we pulled back into Provo at 1 AM, which never happens, and t

Where's Waldo?

Last night Dani asked us if we wanted to help her out with her Young Women's activity. We said sure, so we dressed up in stripes and hung out in various stores for an hour at the Riverwoods. The activity was a scavenger hunt, and one of the tasks was to find the "Waldo's" and take a picture with them. So I'm standing in the Deseret Book and every once in a while a little group of teenagers comes in and asks to take a picture with me. Eventually people in the store started coming up to me and asking who I am. Ha! I guess they thought I was someone famous because all these teens wanted my picture.  Afterward, we got Bluebell ice cream and went home. Finals are in progress. I've taken two already and have one more today, as well as that stupid Literature review.

Catch Up

This past Friday was our friend's Megan and Ryland's wedding. We stayed the night in Lehi at Clayton's parents house so that we could drive up to Salt Lake in the morning for their reception. It was beautiful weather, and a beautiful sealing.  After tons of pictures, we went to the luncheon at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. The food was so good, and we loved listening to all the toasts and funny stories about Megan and Ryland. We especially loved listening to Ryland's mom telling everyone that he looked like a tiny lizard when he was a baby. :) The reception was later that night at a nursery called Cactus and Tropicals.  Clayton was one of the groomsmen and fulfilled all of his duties, including decorating the get away car. But being the nice guy that he is, he left a $5 bill on the dash for a car wash.  On Saturday we went to Stewart Falls. It's a really pretty hike that leads up to a waterfall. The hike is pretty mild, like most c

Packing and Unpacking

This morning I woke up super early to meet with my Health Psych group. We have our final paper and presentation due tomorrow, and as of this morning I was the only one who had worked on it. At all. Talk about a slacking-lame-annoying group. Anyway, I got to the designated meeting spot and got an email from one of the guys in my group saying that he was super sick and wouldn't be able to make it to our meeting. Oh, and he said he was "REALLY SORRY." Great. I hate group projects. Me and Aaron (the other guy in my group) got to work on the last 9 pages of the paper and started making our presentation. Then I got a text from Clayton asking where on campus I was with my group. 10 minutes later my super hero husband came to bring me a box of Krispy Kreme donuts. :)))) He definitely made my whole day better.  At noon we decided that we were at a good stopping point and that Aaron and Brad would finish it, since I had already done 75% of the paper and the whole power p

New York Trip

This past week we went on a trip to Buffalo to go house hunting. It. Was. Awesome. We love Buffalo.  We had a lot of problems with the air planes on the way there and on the way back. On Tuesday night we left after my last class and flew from Salt Lake to New York City and arrived at 5 AM. (Note to self: never do that again.) Once we got there we were supposed to have an hour long lay over, but the flight was completely canceled and we had to hang out in the airport for 5 hours. FIVE HOURS! We eventually got to Buffalo, picked up our rental car, and went straight to an apartment viewing that we had scheduled before knowing we weren't going to get in until the afternoon. It probably didn't go as well as it could have because we were both dead tired. After that we drove straight to our hotel and slept for a long time. (trying to sleep in the airport) Buffalo NY is know for it's food. There are Buffalo wing restaurants and pizzerias everywhere. And since we we
