April

Someone needs to create a blogger app, because downloading pictures from my phone to the computer is annoying (hence the infrequent blog posts).

This month has been a busy one. Work, callings, visitors, a sick dog, and physical therapy have made for quite the schedule. Clayton's physical therapist has finally said that if he keeps doing the exercises they showed him he can start playing sports, as long as he only plays at 80%. We all know there's no such thing as 80% with Clayton. So we've been dutifully going to the gym almost every day to do the prescribed workouts, and Clayton played basketball for the first time last week.

Abe has been a little sick. First he had round worms, because he likes to eat mud. Gross. So we took him to the vet who prescribed him some meds. Then we noticed that the stitches from his neutering got infected. They should have dissolved by now, but apparently sometimes they don't and then they have to pull them out and treat infection. So Abe got some antibiotics for that. Then we found 7 ticks on Abe, so we got him some heavy duty tick protection medicine. Then this past weekend Abe has had the runs and has been very lethargic. We think it might be because he drank the lake water at the dog park we took him to this weekend, but if he doesn't get better by the end of this week we'll have to call up the vet again.

We have our annual backpacking trip coming up at the end of this month. We were debating whether or not we should take Abe with us, until we tried a trial run of camping out with him. Thank goodness we did, because Abe is the worst tent sleeper. All night he was trying to lay on top of us and knocking over the sides of the tent. He wanted to stay up and watch the trees outside for hours. Maybe after he's tent trained he can come on a camping trip, but we are not taking him on the backpacking trip this month.

Jenny, Braydon, and Arlo visited us with past weekend. They live in Atlanta and were able to score some crazy cheap plane tickets. On Saturday we took the Cuyahoga Vally scenic train ride, which was awesome. We also played games, had a BBQ with our friends the Van Leeuwens, played a prank of the scouts, tried to play some sports, and had a picnic.

I just found out this month that I got accepted into the University of Akron's Graduate School! I'll be studying in their counseling program, and hopefully in 2.5 years I'll be a licensed school counselor! I'm super excited, but also a little nervous. It's been a few years since I've been in school, and I'm going to try to keep working full time while going to school full time. Also, school is SO expensive! I feel like it puts more pressure on me to finish quickly when each semester costs moola. I'm going to take one class this summer before taking a full course load in the fall. Hopefully I can handle it all and not let it turn into a giant train wreck. Wish me luck!

  1. BlogTouchPro! It's a blogging app, I think it costs $5, but it is so worth it!

    1. Also, you go girl! I am debating going back to school to pursue a counseling degree as well. Scary and exciting all at the same time!
